Presentation of the European Robotics Strategic Research Agenda 2009
Update: more information on this event and the SRA can be found here:
In cooperation with partners from research and industry EUROP, the European Robotics Technology Platform, has developed a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) for Robotics in Europe. The EC-funded project CARE (Coordination Action for Robotics in Europe, ICT-045058) coordinated these activities and actively drove the cooperation of the EUROP partners.
The whole European robotics community contributed at consensus meetings and through interviews regarding future market needs and technologies relevant to robotics. The last consensus meeting took place on the 9th of March 2009 in Barcelona at which more than 70 robotics stakeholders participated. Agreement was reached on most of the topics concerning the SRA as a whole.
The CARE partners are currently finalising the SRA document. Its publication will take place on 7th of July 2009 in Brussels, within a joint press conference with high-level participation of EUROP (representing the European robotics industry), EURON (speaking for academia) and the European Commission (a crucial support for European robotics).
