FET Flagship RoboCom Info. Day for Industry


On January 27, 2012, (13:00-18:00 hrs), VDMA (the German Engineering Federation) will host an information day specifically for the industry concerning the robotics FET Flagship "Robot Companions for Citizens". The info. day's aim is to gain the support of the robotics industry (and other relevant industries) for the initiative by providing a comprehensible presentation of the objectives of the Flagship, including the challenges and the impact expected on the European economy.

The Presentation of the FET Flagship Robot Companionw for Citizens will be done by the project's coordinator, Professor Paolo Dario from the Scuola Superiore Sant' Anna in Pisa, Italy, followed by a question and answer session.

FET Flagships are ambitious large-scale, science-driven, research initiatives that aim to achieve a visionary goal. The scientific advance should provide a strong and broad basis for future technological innovation and economic exploitation
in a variety of areas, as well as novel benefits for society. There are currently 5 FET Flagships under consideration by the European Commission out of which 2 will be selected for funding of € 100 million per year each, for a total of ten years.
